Newfoundland and Labrador – October 15, 2021
211 Newfoundland and Labrador (211NL), launched on October 15, 2020, has supported Newfoundlanders and Labradorians by providing free, 24/7/365 referral and information services connecting those in need with the appropriate government and community sector supports.
Demand for the service continues to grow, from just a handful of calls to an average of over 300 calls each month.
211 is a confidential information and referral service and is offered in over 150 languages including those of Canada’s First Nations. Staffed by trained and accredited navigators, 211NL maintains a vast database of government and community-sector programs and services to ensure that Newfoundlanders and Labradorians can access the best support when they are needed by simply dialing 2-1-1.
We are excited to announce that in addition to the 211-call line, 211NL has today expanded to offer a complete, publicly available, online database to enable anyone to find the nearest community resource:
www.Nl.211.ca will provide user friendly access to an expansive database of available resources and services for a variety of needs including:
- Mental Health and Addictions
- Housing
- Food Security
- Family Shelters
- Services for Seniors
- Newcomer Support
- And Much More
